DIRECTOR OF TECHNICAL TRAINING

The best technical learning & development facility in the world.

Hiller's Total Tech offers a unique approach to technician training. This approach melds valuable lessons of years of experience with a systematic progression for diagnostics. Theory is taught in relation to the technician’s viewpoint. Service technicians learn theory by hearing, seeing, and then doing. The Hiller Total Tech experience encompasses all facets of this learning paradigm.

Total Tech

Hands-on, real-world service scenarios.

Total Tech utilizes a 10,000 square foot facility that includes state-of-the-art equipment in both the classrooms and the labs. Total Tech’s philosophy of “keeping it as real-world as possible” is fulfilled by providing students with HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical training units that allow hands-on learning... the lab is where the “rubber meets the road.” The training units in each lab give the students the true to life experience that they must have to be prepared for today’s trades. When they enter the workforce, they will have already performed the task at hand; therefore, they are better-equipped technicians.

Our men and women in uniform are simply amazing individuals. They selflessly serve us so we can enjoy living in the greatest country on Earth. Transitions to Trades is one small way for us to pay it forward so these exceptional people can transition out of the military into civilian life. I am extraordinarily grateful for their service and sacrifice.

Proudly transitioning military service to civilian careers.

Transition to Trades™ is a program developed by Hiller Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, and Electrical and the U.S. Army Garrison, Fort Campbell, to train transitioning active duty military service members for new civilian careers as plumbers, electricians, and HVAC service technicians.

Since its inception, Transition to Trades has proudly graduated 475 members (and counting) from the HVAC, Electrical, and Plumbing trades. Of those graduates, 430 soldiers are now employed full-time in the industry.

Transition to Trades, through its partnership with PRAXIS S-10, has now expanded to include placement opportunities with more than 150 contractors across the United States. Soldiers are now permitted to move among the states to attend programs like Transition to Trades. To accommodate these additional soldiers, the program has plans to expand its trade school significantly. These changes will allow soldiers from across the United States to participate in the program and relocate to nearly any area where a PRAXIS S-10  member company is located.
